Lunch Connection Summer Edition
Building community and supporting food security, LCSE is a twice a week free picnic lunch in SJ's South End during the summer months for all ages. Offering a place for neighbours to gather and be served. Last year over 1400 Lunches were served.
Inner City Camp
Each year Inner City Youth Ministry brings a group of kids to Camp Brookwood for Inner City Camp. The Director of ICYM joins the kids as the camp chaplain for the week. At camp kids are able to run and play, sometimes leaving city limits for the first time. Kids are encouraged to grow in their commitment and relationship to God. Through daily chapel sessions and evening chapel, they learn more about God in a fun, safe environment.
The Backpack Program
Each week during the summer registered kids (aged 3-11) receive a free backpack with 10-15$ worth of ingredients to make a healthy included recipe, a book, themed activities and resource information. Designed to build food security and literacy in the community
